Tsunami To Hit Sabah?? Hmmm..

Don't you just love forwarded messages in your mail, without them think my inbox would probably be peaceful.  Well anyway just received an interesting email from one of my friends. 

Here's the content of the message :

"Hello there I just wanted to let you know that pleast stay away from the beaches all around in the month of July.  There is a predcition that there will be another tsunami hitting on July 22nd.  There would also be a sun eclipse (cool).  Predicted that it is going to be really bad and countries like Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak), Singapore, Maldives, Australia, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Philippines are goint to be badly hit.  So please try and stay away from the beaches in July.  

Can't trust them all but..

Like I always say, Better To Be Safe Than Sorry.

Its official!

The Cabinet bought over SMC to deal with the bed shortage following the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) tower block being declared unsafe.

"Buying the private hospital building is necessary since constructing a new hospital would take more time" according to Najib.

My Morning Alarm Clock!

For 3 days straight, theres always been this Power Cut in the morning(or night) for as long as 3 hours. This is due to some technical problem in some of the Power Stations(Hydro Station in Tenom Pangi, Patau-Patau Power Station and the Independen Power Plants).

So they are currently doing maintanence work and might only be completed around July...WAIT..July??!! Does this mean the power cut would be going on for at least another 3 months!

At least Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd(SESB) is taking some initiative by renting 20 generator sets.

SESB advise : Conserve power usage during peak hours from 10am - 3pm and 7pm-9pm by switching off unused lights or air-conditioning.

Ryan advise : Make sure you bring a torchlight or light up a candle when you go shower. This ensure if the black out would to occur at night, you won't end up screaming or running out of the bathroom with your bath towel ;)

(P.S Thanks SESB for waking me up(kills my air-con) so i won't miss my day)

Government to take over SMC?

News

Report suggested that the Government is at its final stages on purchasing Sabah Medical Centre(SMC). According to Health Ministry Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, talks have been smooth and news about the take over would soon be announce on the news.

If the takeover bid were to fail, The Government would contruct a building as an alternative which could ward at least 144 beds in the existing Queen Elizibeth Hospital(QEH) parking lots or rent a few buildings.


They are also set to complete building the twin tower at QEH which could accommodate 661 beds.


It could be a good thing cause medical bills would be much cheaper =)

Searching for RedBull??

Here's a video caught on CCTV as it entered Cummin's SuperValu in County Mayo. It wanted to search for Redbull but ended up in the wrong aisle and was soon spotted by the employees before dashing out of the supermarket :

Flu, Bird Flu, Now PIG FLU??!!

Pig Flu = Swine influenza(Swine Flu aka SIV) is a respiratory which infects pigs. This virus is a mix of human, pig and bird strain.

It is not clear how it infects humans but most probably through direct contact with a pig or human to human. Apparently the symptons a person infected would have starts from like a normal flu, then have his temperature soon shot to 39c, with muscles so painful they were almost paralyzed. Soon to follow by extremly painful headaches and eventually vomiting and diarrhoea.

Currently it has infected people in Mexico and have already killed at least 20 people and thousands more could be infected. The World Health Organization called an emergency meeting in Switzerland today whether to declare an international public health emergency. Reports also suggested that the same virus struck at least 8 people in Texas and Calafornia.

No vaccine specificially protects against swine flu, and it is unclear how much protection current humanflu vaccine might offer.

Stephen Hawking the great scientiest on the wheelchair is expected to make a full recovery.

After being taken to the hospital with chest problem, He is recovering well with his family supporting beside him. Good News For Science, Good News For Us! =)

Stephen Hawking, One of the world genuises the man on the wheelchair is reported "very ill".


According to Cambridge University, "Hawking has been fighting a chest infection for several weeks, and was being treated at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, the university of city north of London."


"Professor hawking is very ill", said Gregory hayman, the university's head of communication. "He is undergoing test. He has been unwell for a couple of weeks".

200000 engineers needed by 2020 according to Insitute of Engineers(IEM) President Prof Datuk Chuah Hean Teik.

Currently theres only 60000 engineers in the country.


So many of my friends whose taking engineering may no need to worry about finding a job next time. xD
