Back From Miri... (Ages Ago)

I'm back from Miri for the Borneo Cup.

It was an exciting final, We were leading for most of the game until Miri showed their hot hands and started a scoring frenzy on the 4th quarter missing only two shots. We lost at the end and grab second place with third place going to Brunei.

The 3 days in Miri definitely was fun, we managed to visit a lot of places with cheap food! I mean comeon! rm2.50 for a bowl of noodles! it's like heaven to me! and don't get me started on the prices of the western food. Wow the food their is AWESOME! and the people their is friendly as well, can't wait to go back for a second round!

Managed to go to a few highlighted places such as the biggest shopping mall there Bintang Plaza, A1 the place with all the good food, Alfresco and the other pubs for a sip or two, as well as the Miri Basketball Association Court.

Part 5 : Off To Lahad Datu

Wow... did everything so last minute! Went out last night and only came back around 5am in the morning, was too tired to pack so i slept straight away! Woke up like 8am and started packing, good thing im a fast packers, only took me about 20min to throw and dump everything into the luggage!

Waiting for my teammate to fetch me now, going off to Lahad Datu for the Sabah Cup!

Part 4 : Penampang Cup In The Bag

So today was the finals for the 7th LHK Selection Cup 2009, and as i predicted we managed to retain the cup.  The finals was relatively easy as we won the other team by 30 points.  Have to give them credit because they were coming into the competition as the underdog and they managed to knock out the favourites in the semi-finals.  

It was a good warm-up competition for all of us.  Going off to Lahad Datu in 4 days times for the Sabah Cup, going into the competition as defending champion again.  Will be looking forward to defending it!  Will update you all more on that!

Funfacts about the Venue(the Court) :

• One of the events for Sukma 2002 was held here (Taekwondo)
• The Dewan looks like and Arena or Stadium, could fit around 2000 people
• The Court is longer than usuall, So you have to run abit longer
• The 3 point line and the free throw line is in good distance to the ring
• The Ring is damn huge and it's easy to score
• Glass board! 

Part 2 : It's Time, Game On

4 hours till game time.

I can feel the excitement in the air, It would be the first time I will be playing in "Pusat Kebudayaan Sabah". Think many great events was held there such as the Taekwondo Sukma 2002.

Part 1 : Training

Life As A Basketballer

After a 5 months break...

It's Basketball Season Again.

Suddenly.. I can feel my heart pumping faster, my adreline rising and the sounds of the basketball(tum....tum....tum).  Its all coming back, this is what I live for. 

Started my training about a week ago and I can't say it was a good week for me.. Got my right toe injured and almost sprain my left ankle.  But after all the pain, all the injury, and all the hardship I'M READY! I'm ready to hit the court.  

First stop :

• Competition : Penampang Cup ( 7th LHK Selection Cup 2009 )
• Venue : Pusat Kebudayaan Sabah ( Donggongon )
• Date : 14/5 - 21/5

My team(Metro Tire) is going into this competition as the defending champions.  I can say i'm excited about it because it's the first tournament of the year and it's also a good warm up for the Sabah Cup which is end of this month.

There 10 teams, 2 groups in this competition and we are drawn into Group A.  The rules is simple, the top two teams from both group would advance and meet in the semi-final.  

I can say it won't be an easy task entering into the semi because the top 3 teams in the competition is drawn into Group A (Metro Tire, STWAB, PPTPDS) but nevertheless our team is strong (i mean they have me) so it shouldn't be a problem.

1st Match(14/05) : 7pm  Metro Tire vs MCA(YOUTH)PUTATAN (Opening Match)

Match prediction - should be a one sided game(Win)

2nd Match(16/05) : 830pm Metrotire vs STWAB 

Match prediction : 50 - 50 going to be a tough match (Match of the Group)

3rd Match(18/05) : 8:15pm Metrotire vs The Third

Match prediction : One sided game(Win)

4th Match(19/05) : 815pm PPTPDS vs Metrotire

Match prediction : 40 - 60 Hopeful

5th and 6th Match : Semi and Final (TBA)
