"Before I say anything regarding this issue, I just want to mention that although there are sensitive points I will mention in this post, I still treat, respect and care for ALL my friends the same way, regardless of their race or their skin colour.
I'm not sure if most people know about this, but me, along with the other people I tag in this note, were robbed on the 10th May 2009. As much as I tried to forget the events that happened, I have not stopped thinking about it. The flashbacks keep coming back every other minute. So I thought putting up this post would help me get some of my rage off my back.
The reason I think I feel so pissed off at the incident is because before that very day, I was a person who always told myself that racism is leading the human race off track, turning us humans against each other, bringing more and more hatred into a once peaceful nation of Malaysia. And I for one did not want that to happen to us, because we Malaysians take pride in being a multi-racial nation. However, when we were robbed that day at Blitzone, a group of 6-8 people, who I presume were Malay, came in wielding knives, or parangs as we call them, and ordered everyone to take out their money. I did as I was told, and so did the other people with me. Some of them managed to hide a large portion of their money under the table where the subwoofer was, and some were able hide their phones. At this point, I think I would have easily got over the incident. However, we were then ordered to proceed to the toilet at knife-point (Gary was kicked in the butt for this too). On the way there, I noticed another bunch of customers untouched at one corner. One of the robbers, a mother-fucking ugly son of a bitch fatass, walked up to them and asked them if they were "Melayu"... They nodded their heads, and then the robber said, "OK, you duduk diam diam main ye..." and proceeded to give them sort of like a high five, and then said "Melayu kan, set set"...
This really really pissed me off. If they were in it for the money, why not take full profit, rob everyone? Instead, in the toilet where we were locked up, I only saw the faces of the traumatized Chinese and Indians. So it left me to ponder, did they do this to make a quick buck? Or did they do it as a point to prove towards the nation about their race? I have great Malay friends, and I know for a fact that their religion forbids this kinds of acts. Did any of the Chinese or Indians do anything to offend them? To add to insult, they threatened our lives and even Gary was a knife-point.
The only thing I know is that this incident, has changed my view on the term "Unity in Diversity" for good. It has opened up the pandora's box in me. There is nothing much else I can do, but curse those 6-8 people. May they rot in hell, but in their on-going life, suffer a painful and excrutiating death.
Again, I wish to say that I still love, care and respect every single person that I know equally, and hope that no hard feelings arise from the post." - Victim

Ryan,
I was another victim of the robbery at Blitz DJ. I remember only four robbers, though they might have been more I missed. I've never been robbed and I was more amazed than frightened. They were very young and pretty disorganised. Yes, the racism on their part is real. I felt a tinge of racial hate, which I instantly recognised, when one of the robbers took my money and then my wallet just to prove a point. But I understand why your friend is upset. Please do tell him that no; this is not an indication that everyone's a racist. The robbers were probably sociopaths. And being sociopaths, you can't expect them to be emotionally developed. They're capable of it. It's a brain thing. So here's the deal. Tell your friend that feeling angry and humiliated is alright and that has it has nothing to do with racism. The Malay boys which were left alone probably didn't know how to react. The robbers were probably poor and may have seen their act as justified since they're just stealing from a bunch of rich Chinese boys. Anyway, it was a sad case of sociopathic-jealousy and stupidity on their part. They're really a waste of semen and space. They will get caught, because past behaviour is a great predictor of the future. I won't bet my life savings that they'll have a nice decent life. They're pretty much doomed with their characters. So don't get worked up about it. Don't sink to such a pathetic level that such an incident would actually change you and impede your growth. They're really not worth your time.

Wow..so deep and such a great comment, And yes it is true.. whats most important was everyone is already and will just let God decide what happens to them in future
FxxK!!..I admit im racist..again...IM FxxKING RACIST!!.SCREW DAT!!..I BECOME MORE N MORE RACIST after reading dis..Haih..World is unfair, malaysia even more unfair..I think if government fuck dat "malay come 1st rule", this gonna be a very peaceful, no racism country..newayz, happy to b sabahan but not malaysian..C ya bro..
When i hear of these horrible incidents, i get pretty angry, but not angry at the entire race of the perpetrators but at the narrow minded generalisations these racist people have. Just because they might have a problem with a group of people of other races doesn't give them the right to take it out on other people who have nothing to do with them. It's stupid to stereotype an entire race based on a minority, disregarding individualism and then act out on that in destructive ways. N the horrible thing is that when these happens, it causes the victims to turn racist against the perpetrators and the cycle doesn't end. It shouldn't be about race. We should condemn the particular group of individuals who did the act but not the entire race.
Hey Ming,
I'm just glad you and your friends are okay. I have a similar philosophy regarding a united front irrespective of race of religion against the true enemies of humanity- poverty, injustice...etc...but the daily situations we face often make it difficult to stick to that principle. However, don't throw that belief out the window yet, it's possible as long as you have faith and lead by example. God bless!
manda.
why all the comments are sooo deep? == only mine is simplest...
Yeap, we can't curse other races just because a bunch of hooligans came and disturb us. I just hope that would get their lesson from what they have did. And yes we would have faith that one day all races would come together and unite .
(P.S. Crueldog cause your black ;P jokes)
